Each year we run a major conference in the Africa to explore current advances in construction management research.
We have split the conference papers into two types: working papers and indexed papers. AIRS recognises that academic conferences provide a valuable opportunity for authors to present their work-in-progress with the intention of getting feedback in order to extend the conference paper into a journal publication. Journal editors and publishers often do not allow the reuse of materials previously published in a conference paper. Therefore, the introduction of the ‘Working Paper’ (as opposed to an ‘Indexed Paper’) should help authors who are intending to develop their papers further into journal publications. Although ‘Working Papers’ are not indexed e.g. in the AIRS Database and Scopus, it is worth noting that both working papers and indexed papers have gone through the same double-blind peer-review process.
